The Bill and Carol Latimer Charitable Foundation believes that there are probably many unmet needs in Obion County. They also believe that the Christians and churches of Obion County are uniquely equipped to identify and provide methods of meeting those needs. The foundation recognizes that sometimes the vision of what can be done to solve human problems seems limited by a lack of financial resources.
The Foundation wants to be a good steward of the blessings of God which have been entrusted to their care. They believe that the churches of Obion County are good vehicles through which they can fulfill their stewardship responsibilities. Accordingly, they want to make you aware of the fact that financial resources are available to help local churches serve the needy in Obion County.
The Foundation encourages the churches of Obion County to explore with their members the possibility of developing plans to meet particular needs in the county. They envision churches working with their members to prepare proposals for submission to the Foundation Board. The Board will then consider the proposals and offer funding for the projects which seem to offer the greatest return on investment to the community.
They do not feel that building physical structures or providing for church members’ needs are appropriate uses of the Foundation’s resources. Instead, they want to encourage the churches to look outside their membership for beneficiaries of their efforts. If your church identifies a need and has a plan for meeting the need, please submit an application for a grant to the Bill and Carol Latimer Charitable Foundation |
