Church Grants

The Bill and Carol Latimer Charitable Foundation believes that there are many unmet needs in Obion and surrounding counties. The Foundation Trust Committee members also believe that the Christian churches in the area are uniquely equipped to identify and provide methods of meeting those needs. The Foundation recognizes that often the vision of what can be done to solve human problems seems limited by a lack of financial resources.

The Foundation wants to be a good steward of the blessings of God which have been entrusted to its care. The Foundation believes that helping local churches effectively meet community needs is one good way to fulfill its stewardship responsibility. Accordingly, the Trust Committee members want to make you aware that financial resources are available to help local churches serve the needs in Obion, Weakley, or Lake County.

The Foundation Trust Committee encourages the churches of Obion and surrounding counties to explore with their members the possibility of developing plans to meet particular needs in the community. They envision churches working with their members to prepare proposals for submission to the Foundation Trust Committee. The Foundation Trust Committee will then consider the proposals and offer funding for the projects which seem to offer the greatest return on investment to the community.

The Foundation wants to encourage churches to look outside their membership for beneficiaries of their efforts.  The Foundation will consider funding for dedicated outreach purposes in the aforementioned counties.
If your church identifies a need and has a plan for meeting the need, please submit an application for a grant to The Bill and Carol Latimer Charitable Foundation.

Prior to preparation and submission of your grant application, we suggest reading the book

When Helping Hurts: Alleviating Poverty Without Hurting the Poor...and Yourself by Brian Fikkert and Steve Corbet.
